Hazy Days
This track came as a bit of a surprise to me. I didn't start out with this in mind, it began to form when I added that little repeating highlight you hear on the Fender Strat, hope you like it!
Sweethearts
Available now on iTunes! it has the sparkly acoustic rhythm that I imagined along with a silky lead that complements it. Jan says its 'wonderful', that's good enough for me

Down to the Sea

Brush Strokes
Recording is now complete and Brush Strokes will be available on 20 Sept 2024. It's a nice upbeat track with lots going on, I think you'll like it! Audio available soon
Spanish Eyes
A crystal like acoustic track with a pretty melody. You'll see what I mean on it's iTunes release date of 4th October 2024, not too long now. Audio available soon
Composition
the writing process
Ideas
Ideas can come from anywhere, I'll pick a style I like, I may find some unusual or interesting chords on the guitar and from there gradually build up a track from scratch.
Writing
When I have a clearer idea of the track, I'll start to put the song structure together and map out the intro, verses, chorus and maybe a bridge and an ending. I'll choose the instrument voicings
Recording
Traditionally the drums and bass are recorded first along with a scratch track (basic rhythm run through on an acoustic guitar) I can then record the final tracks ready for finishing.
